Game plan
Van Helsing Control is pure control, not combo: you win by exhausting your opponent's resources, healing your barrier, making favourable trades and dragging them into fatigue. Games are long and need planning many turns ahead: this is not a deck for beginners or for anyone after quick games. The video walks through the deck card by card, with commented matches.

Guide
Strengths
Van Helsing is the single card that gives the most value in the game: before every combat it puts Van Helsing's Tools back in your hand, which lets you choose one of four effects every round and win your trades. Baby Bear is worth two cards, because On Death it adds Papa Bear to your hand. Healing keeps your barrier standing: Shahrazad, Jill, Jekyll, Tin Woodman and Searing Light. Dark Omen destroys the characters that would not go down otherwise, such as Boogeyman and Asanbosam. Forbidden Knowledge, even twice, wipes the board when you are cornered.
Weaknesses
Games are very long and every bad trade costs you fifteen turns later. The deck has few answers to effects that hit the whole board (AoE), as the end of the video points out. If Van Helsing comes down too early and gets removed, you lose your main source of value.
Key combos and lines
Shahrazad with Spellbook and Ali Baba: every card that enters your hand heals your barrier. Phuong Hoang with Shahrazad, Jill, Jekyll and Tin Woodman: it gets +1/+1 on every heal, can Move and has Rebirth. Ali Baba replaces the draw-two cards: it draws one guaranteed card and leaves a body on the board, useful for early trades. Roo, two mana with Move, trades twice into the little pigs. Spellbook gives you a random spell every round: one is enough, and over a long game you win on value.
Notes and changes
Do not throw Van Helsing onto the board without a real board advantage. Against aggro decks you can play it early and use the Tools right away; otherwise keep it for after Forbidden Knowledge, so it stays on the board for two or three turns and pays off. If you need it, though, play it.
