Line-up Crimson Cup Practice

Game plan

A fairly standard line up to get comfortable with the ban mechanics of tournaments. Nothing remarkable, nothing terrible. A middle-of-the-road line up that does a bit of everything.

The three decks

Deck A · Discard

Discard Control · Dracula (Legendary)

Role in the set

A deck that does reasonably well against control and midrange, less so against pure aggro

Deck B · Midrange

La Bella e la Bestia · Three Not So Little Pigs (Legendary)

Role in the set

It can hold its own against anyone. Against aggro you can make good value trades and you always have more resources than your opponent because you draw a lot. Against control you have to be aggressive right away, but you can also play it in the late game because you manage to get going again thanks to all the draws you make.

Deck C · Control

Combo Merlin · Merlin (Legendary)

Role in the set

It wins against slow control. It loses against aggro.

Conquest rules

Three different Legendaries and at least 8 different unique cards between any two decks, as in the Crimson Cup.

  • A and B: 13 different cards
  • A and C: 11 different cards
  • B and C: 11 different cards

Guide

Strengths

Whatever the ban is, the other two can still always hold their own against anyone.

Weaknesses

None of the decks seems to me to be an absolute top tier. I have the impression that you can win against everyone and lose against everyone.

Matchups

I've more or less already covered them in the short descriptions of the individual decks
