Upgrade Meta: card text search, a rebuilt tier list, Locations and our own Discord

Search the card text

The first message that reached us through the feedback box asked for something precise: while building a deck around MulanCard preview: ★MulanUnit · Legendary · Ballad of Mulan4 Mana2/4 Power/HealthDouble Attack When an ally On Reveal ability happens, repeat it., the person who wrote wanted to see only the cards with On Reveal by typing "Reveal" in the search, as you can in the game. Now you can.

• The deck builder search looks at the name, the saga and the card text. Type "Reveal" and the On Reveal cards remain: there are 33 in the current demo.
• Capitals and accents don't matter, and with several words you get the cards that contain all of them, for example "reveal damage".
• Below the filters you see how many cards are left, with "Clear filters"; when nothing matches, the builder says so instead of showing an empty list.
• The same search works in the card database and in the "Search a card" box at the top of every page. On the Italian site it also reads the English text of the game, so "draw" works there too.

A rebuilt tier list

The tier list now shows three sources side by side, each with its own page:

• OriginsMeta: tiers come only from tournament results, so they arrive after the Crimson Cup; meanwhile the page shows the top-rated decks and the cards that appear in the most decks.
• Community: the average of the tier lists saved by members, which becomes a ranking from 5 lists up.
• Most played: how many published decks each card appears in. That is popularity, not win rate.

The balance tracker has its own page, MetaShifting, with the most recent patch first. In the tier list maker cards really drag now; on a phone there is the S A B C D bar, and with an account you can save your list, which then counts in the community tier list.

Locations

A new Locations page: the 44 locations of Demo 2.0, with search by name and effect, filters by effect family (damage, mana, movement and more) and the cards they mention linked to their pages. To see how they change a match, read the Locations guide.

Decks, guides and profiles

• In Decks the filters are always visible, with a new one for the author type: Staff, Pro, Influencer, Community. Decks sort newest first, and each one shows its creation date and the game version it was built on.
• Every member has a public page with their published decks and saved tier lists.
• The deck builder has four buttons: Publish on the site, Save privately (the deck stays in your profile and only you can see it), Share, Clear deck. The deck you are building saves itself in your browser.

• Wrote a guide yourself? Send it to us: we read it and, with your permission, publish it under your name.

Cards checked in the game

On 22 September we compared all 122 cards of Demo 2.0 with the game's collection, one by one: costs, stats and alignments all matched, 16 texts did not, and now they are the game's. The database also has the 21 September demo patch with the 14 cards it changes, and the top of the deck builder says which game version the cards are up to date with. Today we also fixed the keywords of Queen of HeartsCard preview: ★Queen of HeartsUnit · Legendary · Wonderland4 Mana3/3 Power/HealthFirst Strike When an ally On Death ability happens, repeat it. and BagheeraCard preview: BagheeraUnit · The Jungle Book1 Mana1/1 Power/HealthOn Reveal: If I'm on a middle space, I get +2⚔️/+2❤️., which had fallen behind their text.

An easier site to read

The logo is now a hand-drawn lettering. On deck pages the cards are shown whole and, with a mouse, flip over to show their text; the card preview keeps only what you need (name, type, alignment and effect). The calendar under the slider really scrolls now, slowly, and the home page header is shorter, so the news fits on the first screen.

Our own Discord

OriginsMeta has its own Discord server. The Discord logo is in the top menu (on a phone, inside "Menu") and the invite is at the end of every article. New articles and guides are posted there automatically as soon as they go live on the site. The official Origins TCG Discord is still Koin Games' server, for announcements, AMAs and tournament sign-ups.

Thank you, coachcronos

On 23 September coachcronos hosted us live on his Twitch channel, with Davdas and Pierluigi, to talk about the site and Origins TCG with his chat. Thank you from the heart: for the space, for the enthusiasm he brings to the game and for introducing us to his community. Several changes in this article started on that stream: deck filters that are always visible, the author type filter and "Send us your guide".

Thank you for writing to us

The feedback box has been open for a few days and the staff reads every message. Card text search started that way, from an unsigned message: thank you, whoever you are. From today the box also has a field for your name or nickname, optional, so we know who to thank (we never publish it without asking you).
